Who Are We?

North Pine Potters Inc is a 'Not for Profit' organisation located in the grounds of Old Petrie Town on Brisbane's north side.

North Pine Potters was originally established in 1976 as a small group of local artists interested in creating handcrafted pottery - particularly in the wood firing process.  They set up classes at the Readymix property in Todds Road Lawnton, however in 1979 had to move due to development of the Readymix site.

Local residents Bob and Jack Hyde kindly offered the use of their Cow Bails on their Dayboro Road property where members enjoyed holding workshops under the old fig tree.  In the late 80's The Pottery Barn was constructed giving the group a much larger space. Today the club continues with over 70 members who all bring different styles of beautifully crafted ceramics made from Australian clay and fired using several different techniques.

The club holds regular classes for those wishing to learn; workshops and exhibitions for members and a gallery to display items for sale to the public.

Make your way down to the barn on your next visit to the markets, your leisurely stroll will take you past the sundial the potters have made with tiles depicting the history of the Pine Shire - be sure to take a brief stop here and have a look.

We look forward to meeting you soon.
